Tickets for the event are available online and can be purchased now. You have two options for ticketing for the 2019 Pittsburgh Wine Festival.

VIP tickets allow you to get into the event early (at 5PM instead of 7PM) and start tasting the wines before the crowds arrive. This can give you exclusive access to some of the limited quantities of the best pours of the evening.

VIP Tasting tickets will cost $250 this year and include all your tastings, food and early admission. (There may be some additional surprises for those who are able to get into the event early including special tastings and limited editions of food and drink.) VIP guests are obviously welcome to stay until the event ends at 9.

General tickets, or Grand Tasting tickets, give you access to the experience from 7-9Pm. Grand Tasting tickets start at $125 and include your tastings, food and general admission.

What you can expect

This year the wine festival brings with it more than 500 wines to choose from with an emphasis on wine quality and exclusive brands from around the world. Also, there will be educational seminars and specialized tastings occurring throughout the evening.

The best part? All the tasting is included in the price of your ticket. You also get to sample some great foods while you're there which are no additional cost.

Featured wineries from around the world

Although the official list of participants hasn't been posted yet, festival officials assure us that this year will be a standout year at the festival with more wineries than ever making an appearance and some of the most exclusive wines in the world will be available for tasting. It is definitely going to be the region's premier wine tasting event and something you'll be sad to miss.

Wine tasting for a great cause

One of the coolest things about drinking the evening away at this festival is that it always donates a portion of its proceeds to charity. The charity they choose to support changes each year.

This year, the festival is benefiting The Pittsburgh Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (PIND). This includes supporting research on Parkinson's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington's Disease, Stroke, and Alzheimer's Disease. They work hard to take the most recent scientific findings and turn them into new treatments for those affected by neurodegenerative diseases.
